My agent sent me some test pages today for a gig. I'm a huge fan of the property, so I really hope I can get the gig. Can't really say what it is yet, but I can hint dammit!

a) It's scifi, and I love coloring me some scifi stuff. I get to go apeshit with effects.
b) It makes me wanna sing a Queen sountrack...Ah Aaaaaah!

It was Gordon.

I don't think I'm gonna be taking the gig. They sent me a few pages from the older books and asked me if I was interested. The art was very Campbell'ish, so I was all "Hellz yeah!" Then they sent me the lineart for the test pages, and it was a completely different artist/style. I wasn't diggin the lines. Just don't see myself committing to 396 pages and 18 covers when I knew I was gonna be hating the artwork every single day. Every time I've worked on a project where I've hated the lineart my colors end up looking like crap.

That is a feeling I know well. If I hate the subject matter, my work sucks.

Another cover. These aren't the final colors, I just wanted to do an "aged" version for myself.

Lineart: Pasquale Qualano

Just moved up to Post Falls ID, and with the move I havn't been able to color anything for almost 2 months. So I've been getting back in practice the last few days and knockin some of the rust off:

Lineart by bud (and one of my favorite comic pencillers) Mark Robinson

Couple of quickie 30 min palette studies...

Lineart by another buddy Joe Eisma
