blog sites and software

I want to have people be able to comment on my blog like this site: http://saveourbones.com/osteoporosis-blog/ Is that a special software or provider or what?

Also, I'd like to be able to group topics together and have it searchable and maybe sticky certain subjects. Perhaps instead of bloggging, I really want to deliver my content via Bulletin Boards? Geocities is closing down and I have a lot to say and nowhere to post it.

Advice please.

No, wait, I don't really give a toss. So, yeah, I'll comment. Send an email to someone whose blog style you like. Ask them what software they use. Probably faster than polling random yard-trash netgeeks. Y'know, like me.

It sounds more like you want a BB. I haven't come across blogging software that lets you "sticky" something, but I suppose you could "post-date" an entry. You can "group" things using tags. My only experience is with Livejournal, but I like them well enough.

Bulv has the right idea, though. Ask someone whose blog you like what software they're using. I'll be shocked if they don't have a feedback email somewhere on their personal soapbox. If not, just run a whois if they have their own domain... should be easy to get a contact email that way.

Is Live Journal searchable? It seems like none of them have search functions. PHPBB search seems pretty awful. How about Google blogs?
